The Case IH Vestrum 120 and Vestrum 130 are two utility tractors from the same Vestrum family, built on a similar platform but tuned for different power needs. Both share the FPT NEF 4.5L turbocharged diesel engine, closed-center load-sensing hydraulics, and a broadly similar operator environment — so on paper they look like siblings. The real differences show up in output, drivetrain sophistication, and how much muscle they can put to work in the field. This comparison is useful for buyers deciding between the two trims, particularly farmers weighing whether the extra power and lifting capacity of the 130 justifies stepping up from the 120.
The 130 is the clear winner here. It puts out 130 HP (up to 140 HP on overboost) versus the 120's 118.4 HP gross rating. More telling is the torque: the 130 delivers 630 Nm at 1300 RPM with a healthy 41% torque rise, giving it noticeably better lugging power under load — useful for heavy tillage or PTO-intensive work. The 120's torque figures aren't officially listed, which itself suggests it's positioned as the lighter-duty option.
Both offer a Powershift and CVXDrive CVT option, but the 130 specifically names an "ActiveDrive 8 Powershift," implying a more refined shifting setup. Functionally they're close, though the 130's drivetrain feels like the more developed version.
This is where the gap widens the most. The 130 offers 5,600 kg of rear lift capacity compared to just 4,199 kg on the 120 — a difference that matters a lot if you're running heavy implements like large disc harrows or loaded trailers. The 130 also adds a couple of extra auxiliary valves (4 rear + 2 mid vs. 4 rear + 3 mid optional on the 120, though the two spec sheets aren't fully consistent here).
The 130 rides on larger tyres (420/70R24 front, 520/70R42 rear) versus the 120's 380/85R24 front and 460/85R34 rear. Bigger rubber generally means better traction and a higher load rating, which lines up with the 130's higher max permissible weight (10,000 kg vs. ~7,250 kg for the 120).
Despite sharing the same unladen weight (5,850 kg), the 130 is physically larger — about 700mm longer overall (4,784 mm vs. ~4,060 mm) and slightly taller, which tracks with its heavier-duty billing.
Both get air suspension seats and adjustable steering columns, but the 130 leans more modern with its AFS Pro 700+ display and MultiControl armrest, suggesting a more premium cab experience aimed at operators spending long hours in the seat.
The Vestrum 120 suits lighter mixed-use farms where fuel efficiency and a lower price point matter more than raw grunt. The Vestrum 130 is the better pick if you're regularly running heavier implements, need more lift capacity, or want a more feature-rich cab — essentially the same tractor family, but built for a step up in workload.
A dash means that the field has not been entered for that tractor.
